Along with the Storm's Ashley Walker, Devanei Hampton helped lead the California Golden Bears to prominence in the Pac-10. A product of nearby Oakland Tech High School, Hampton joined fellow freshmen Walker and Alexis Gray-Lawson in making an immediate impact. As a sophomore, she became the first Bear named Pac-10 Player of the Year, having averaged 16.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. A pair of surgeries on her right knee limited Hampton her final two seasons, but she finished her Cal career fifth in school history in rebounding and sixth in scoring. After a solid season in Poland, Hampton will join the Storm for 2010 training camp.
