November 18, 2013

SEATTLE - The Storm is pleased to announce that Kyle Waters will join the organization as the new vice president of ticket sales & service. Waters returns to the Storm after a previous seven-year stint, starting in June 2005 as a part-time sales associate and ending in February 2012 as the director of ticket sales & service.

In his new role, Waters will oversee all ticketing aspects of the Storm, including Season Ticket Holder benefits and retention, ticket sales promotions, group sales and ticket holder customer service.

“My family and I are looking forward to our return to the Storm and Seattle,” said Waters. “I had a great experience being a part of the Storm organization for seven years, including the 2010 Championship season. I’m grateful for the opportunity to come back to the franchise to lead our efforts to deliver a first-class fan experience and to expand our fan base. Storm fans are among the most passionate and loyal in sports and I’m excited to reconnect with many of them.”

Waters has an extensive background in tickets sales. Most recently, Waters was the general manager of ticket sales and service for Collegiate Consulting in the Purdue University Athletics Department. With Waters at the helm of the sales team in West Lafayette, Ind., the Purdue Football season ticket sales reached their highest mark since 2007, men’s basketball attendance ranked in the top 25 nationally and women’s basketball attendance ranked in the top 10 nationally and No. 1 in the Big Ten Conference. Waters’ team also set new season ticket records in volleyball and baseball.

“I’m so excited to have Kyle back as part of our management team,” said Storm President & CEO Karen Bryant. “He has a strong track record of sales success over the past nine years, first as an account executive for the Sonics & Storm and most recently as general manager with Collegiate Consulting. He is a leader and a passionate ambassador for Storm Basketball and will have an immediate impact on our overall business.”

Throughout his first stint with the Storm from 2005-12, Waters was consistently among the top sellers in the WNBA and was managing the sales team when they achieved the Storm’s largest revenue mark since becoming an independent team in 2008.

Waters will officially start with the Storm in January 2014. He can be reached at KWaters@StormBasketball.com.
