SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm has announced new Take Your Health by Storm events for August, which features a walk around Discovery Park with Seattle Storm President & CEO Karen Bryant.

The Discovery Park Walk takes place on Sunday Aug. 18 at 10 a.m., at Discovery Park in Magnolia. Fans are asked to meet at 9:45 a.m. at the north parking lot next to the Storm car, are welcome to chat with Bryant as they complete the 2.8-mile loop.

In addition to the Discovery Park Walk, the Storm is also hosting a kickball game Aug. 21 and the Green Lake Super Jock ‘N Jill Walk on Aug. 27 as part of the Take Your Health by Storm campaign.

Fans are also encouraged to participate in the campaign through the 30-Day Challenge by selecting three daily health and wellness goals to pursue for 30 consecutive days. Challengers can support one another by coming to the Take Your Health by Storm events in August and by using #HealthByStorm and #AppleADay on social media outlets.

“I’m really excited about this next phase of our health and wellness campaign,” said Bryant. “I’ve set goals that will require me to make changes each day for the next month. My approach was to include a nutrition goal, a fitness goal and a stress management goal. I know after 30 days I will feel better and have some new healthy habits.” Bryant’s daily goals are to eat a healthy breakfast, perform 45 minutes of exercise or walk 10,000 steps, and to complete 15 minutes of meditation.
