The Storm went to the locker room feeling good about nearly playing Los Angles to a draw in a first half that ended with the Sparks holding a slim two-point lead at the STAPLES Center. However, the third quarter proved ruinous for the Storm, who fell behind by 14 points and lost by the same margin, 76-62. The Storm managed just 10 points in the third quarter;

Saturday, July 12 - at Storm 70, Los Angeles 52
The Sparks paid their only visit of the regular season to KeyArena on July 12, falling 70-52 to the Storm in one of their most lopsided losses of the year. After a close, defensive first half, the Storm found more offense following halftime to pull away. The 52 Sparks points were a season low and one of the worst scoring outputs in franchise history. The Storm limited Los Angeles to 34.0 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers.
Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Jackson made life miserable for Parker, blocking five shots. Parker shot 6-of-14 from the field and had five turnovers, while Leslie was held to 2-of-11 shooting and also turned it over five times. Led by 18 points from Bird, four Storm starters scored double-figures. The fifth,
Yolanda Griffith, handled the matchup with Leslie and pulled down 12 boards.

Sunday, Sept. 14 - at Los Angeles 65, Storm 48
With their playoff series set to begin five days later, the Storm and Sparks took different approaches to Sunday's nationally-televised regular-season finale. While L.A. Head Coach
Michael Cooper prepared to use his normal rotation, Agler chose to rest starters Bird and Griffith. Both started the game, but left for good before the midway point of the first quarter. By then, the Sparks had already taken command, scoring the game's first 11 points and taking a 15-point lead after one quarter. The Storm never got back in the game, falling 65-48.
The 48 points were a season low for the Storm and the first time the team was held under the half-century mark since August 2003.
Shyra Ely was the lone offensive bright spot, scoring a career-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Her eight rebounds also tied a career high. Ely was the only Storm player to reach double-figures. The Sparks got 40 points from their bench, which played extended minutes because of the lopsided score. Ferdinand-Harris led the way with 14 points, while
Sidney Spencer scored 11.
