The Storm kicked off the second half of the season Tuesday in Phoenix. In the early going, the visitors were hot, opening the game 7-of-10 from the field and leading 19-6 when Mercury Coach Paul Westhead took a timeout midway through the first quarter. Phoenix ended the first quarter on an 18-2 run and never looked back in an 89-79 loss that saw the Storm done in by turnovers (20) and poor transition defense. The Storm wasted a dominant effort from Jackson, who scored 33 points and grabbed 11 boards. Jackson's output was nearly matched by fellow Aussie All-Star Penny Taylor, who put up 32 points, and only one other Storm player (Lennox, 22) scored double-figures.
