STORM HEAD COACH
BRIAN AGLER:
On the game:
I think we finished off well. Obviously we had some of our key players in against their reserves, but we made some plays.
On the Mercury resting starters down the stretch:
They have to do what they have to do and we have to do what we have to do. I mean I think that everyone has their reasons. I don’t think one way or the other about it. When you are in the coaching business, you sort of respect everybody. You have your own issues and you realize everybody else has their things that they are dealing with, so I am sure that there are reasons they did what they wanted to do and I support Corey (Gaines) on whatever his decisions were.

STORM GUARD
TANISHA WRIGHT:
On the game:
It was a good game for us to get some rhythm and to get some people minutes. It was a good game for them.
On maintaining focus despite having clinched home-court advantage:
Well, it's just knowing that you have bigger goals. Clinching the number one seed is not our ultimate goal, so it doesn’t really matter much.

STORM FORWARD
SWIN CASH:
On the game:
I thought it was a good game for us and an opportunity to get players into the game. We are just gearing up for the playoffs.
On the play of the Storm bench:
It is great to have them come in and they are finding their groove right now. I am really happy to see
Ashley (Robinson) get some quality minutes for us and
Lauren (Jackson) is going to do her thing. It was nice to see
(Jana) Veselá get in there for a couple plays and
Abby (Bishop) make some plays. We are going to need them. At some point in time in the playoffs, their number is going to be called and I think they prepared themselves all season long and they will be ready.
|
On the bench's play:
Brooke (Smith) played well, Kara (Braxton) played well. (Taylor) Lilley came in and got some shots, did some things. It’s hard; I was in that position before when I played. It’s tough to come in and not play a lot of games and then come in and play. It’s hard.
On preparing for the playoffs:
We do have postseason players. We have players when that time of that year comes around they turn it on and go to another level. That’s a good sign.
|
On her playing time:
I’m feeling really good. They have a lot of confidence in me; they put me in there. They keep me in there running, and make sure I play enough minutes to be able to play at the level that they are expecting me at. I’m doing as much as I can right now, I’m sure they’re going to push me harder, but we have a couple more years to get me exactly where they want me to be so I’m excited.
On preparing for the postseason:
I think I just need to stay mentally focused and get ready for the playoffs, because the playoffs are totally different than the regular season; it’s a whole new game. New players come with all their A-games and it’s something I’m looking forward to. It’s a challenge every night. I’m looking forward to it.
|
On staying focused going into the playoffs:
One thing we are doing is concentrating on us. We’re not really concerned with what other people are doing. We know we control our own destiny and that is our mindset.
On the significance of having home-court advantage in the first round:
It’s always important to start at home; it’s almost like your comfort zone. I think it will be great for us to be here, sleep in our own beds and do things like that. Keeping our same routine will be very important for us.
On how this game helped for the playoffs:
I think going into the playoffs and having a chance to see things, being able to step away from the game, not always being in tonight I think we were able to see a lot of things tonight and I think we’ll be ready come playoff time.
