On the game:
I don’t think we ran out of gas; we just had a couple of unfortunate incidences where we missed shots or things just didn’t go the way we wanted. When
|
On whether the team is fatigued after three straight overtime games:
We can’t attribute the loss to fatigue. I don’t know if it’s a mental lapse, but we put ourselves in situations to win games and we just aren’t finishing them.
On Noelle Quinn's performance:
She has some inches on
Sue (Bird) and she made some tough shots.

On the game:
We had plenty of opportunities and we didn’t capitalize on them. I had an opportunity to take care of the game at the end of regulation and we just didn’t capitalize.
On Quinn:
She hit some big shots - three of them that I can remember off the top of my head. You have to give her credit for hitting some big shots.

On the game:
I’m very happy we won this game. I thought we did a lot of things wrong to put ourselves in that hole. But again, we stayed with it. A week ago we probably would have lost this game. The last time we played in Seattle, it was a triple-overtime game. But we did do a lot of good things tonight. People rose to the occasion - our big four put it together. They are going to get better as we go through this. This is their second time playing together. So things were good. The way we played I’m not happy with, but I know we’ll play better.
On the team's focal point for improvement:
Well, just the continuity and the flow of everything - the way that they’re playing. They have to get a feel for each other. A couple of times they made passes to one another where the ball sailed out of bounds. But what they did was keep working. I liked our work on the boards. We have four people that can go out and get a double-double on any given night, and for sure two of them are going to go out and do that.

On the game:
I’m excited about how we fought tonight. In the past, we would have looked up at the score where we would be down by six with three minutes left in the game, we would have just given up. We are just happy that we were able to come back and get this much-needed win. We did a good job defensively. It was good that we were able to go with our big lineup because we were able to switch a lot of those screens.
On her conditioning:
I think it’s coming back. It’s only been a month out and I think I am at about 60-65%, but more into the season, I know it will be a lot better.

On her career night:
I was just more aggressive. Lisa (Leslie), Candace, Tina (Thompson), and DeLisha (Milton-Jones) attract so much attention and a lot of times the guards are open. Being able to step up and make those open shots while also having confidence and taking them were the biggest differences.
