On the game:
We finally got to the free-throw line and hit some key shots.
On his message to the team at halftime:
Well, they were playing hard; they were competing extremely hard. If you want to win the game, you can’t take any steps backwards. You have to match the intensity or go past it. I think that they are a good team and I predict that they are going to be a playoff team and I am just happy that we had a chance to win today.

On playing her first game after less than a week of practice:
It was the same this year as it was last year. I feel that I am a part of the team now. It was not really hard getting back into it, but it was hard remembering the plays. Whenever (Coach Agler) called the plays, I feel like I am constantly saying, 'What is that?' I think that is probably the hardest part, getting used to the plays.

On playing the Monarchs again tomorrow:
More than anything we have to prepare mentally more than physically. It is going to be the mental preparation that is key. We are going to come in and get ready to focus on our defense and the things that we need to do to take care on that side. We are just going to do the things that we need to do to win.
|
On the game:
We did some good things, but we are definitely a work in progress and that’s our starting point. We will learn a lot from that game and hopefully we can apply some of it to the game tomorrow.
On Rebekkah Brunson and Kara Lawson:
We’ve got to integrate them back into the system and we need them. So they are learning on the fly and in the fire because neither one of them has participated in a full practice yet. I thought both of them did really well considering, those are two major pieces that have been absent but that’s what every team in the league is dealing with.
|
On her return:
It felt really good to be able to go out there and participate. I enjoy cheering on my team when they are doing well, but I really want to be out there helping them as well.
On making adjustments for tomorrow's rematch:
I don’t think we played the defense that we needed to. There were some good spurts and we did a lot of good things, but we didn’t defend the way we needed to for the entire game.
|
On the Storm's second-half adjustments:
They just tried to be more aggressive. They tried to attack us with ball screens and we just struggled a little bit. They keyed in defensively on the areas we struggled a little bit.
On Laura Harper's performance:
She’s grown so much as a player. I think the biggest thing is her confidence, I think she knows she got better and she trust herself now.

On her first WNBA game:
It was really great, the fans were really awesome. Obviously I wish we could have won but I think we learned a lot and I’m happy we get to go back and face them tomorrow.
