    STORM HEAD COACH BRIAN AGLER:
    On the game:
I think the intensity level that they played with was the difference. They played with great intensity and great urgency.

On resting his starters in the fourth quarter:
We are on a four-game road trip and we have a lot of games coming up. We wanted to get a chance to look at some other people.

    GUARD SUE BIRD:
    On the game:
They pressed and they were really aggressive on defense. They shot the ball really well. Everything was going their way, even little things like lose balls. That's how you know tonight was their night.

    On moving forward:
You put it in the past. You learn from it and move on. They just got beat by Detroit the same way a couple nights ago and look what they came out and did. So hopefully we can bounce back and get the next one.

    FORWARD KATIE GEARLDS:
    On the game:
They beat us, simple as that. You can't really pinpoint one thing. They just beat us all across the board.

    On Washington's intensity:
We didn't match it. They came out with great energy and we didn't match it. No excuses. They just had a lot more energy than we did.

    WASHINGTON HEAD COACH JESSIE KENLAW:
    On the win:
It felt great. Obviously it felt wonderful. It was really good to see the team respond the way that they did and that's the kind of feeling that I hope we can get used to.

On maintaining this level of play:
The way we bottle it up is to keep working hard in practice and continuing to get the discipline in the areas that we need to have it in and that is how we have to bottle that up.

On her focus after taking over as interim head coach:
The emphasis has just been on our defense and transition. That has been what we talked about at practice. We haven't had a lot of time to do anything, but the emphasis has been on defense and transition.

    FORWARD TAJ MCWILLIAMS-FRANKLIN:
    On Kenlaw's debut:
It was a great start, but I think that we were going to have it anyway after the embarrassing loss the other night. It's the same coaching staff; she's just in an elevated position. Same place, same people, we just came out this time like we had nothing to lose. Basically for us we can only go up from here. I think people view the coaching change as the reason we won, but I think as professionals and as players we were going to play hard anyway. Personally, I was because I was embarrassed for myself and for the fans. I'm happy Coach is in this position. She's making the most of her opportunity. But most of all I am happy that we had a chance to play, have fun, and rest.

    On the game:
Coming off of last game, the energy that coach brings and a combination of a lot of factors went into us playing like this. I hope we can keep it up for the next game against New York because that's really a big game.

    FORWARD MONIQUE CURRIE:
    On the win:
I think we're very pleased and very excited. I think that we needed this win for the organization just to show that we might be down but we're never out. I think we're all very happy and are really looking forward to continuing on.

    On the team's mentality:
Anytime you have a coaching change like we had it really fires people up, but at the same time we needed that. We needed to be excited; we needed to be fired up. Our defense was very good, especially in the first half. Everyone played a big role in tonight win and that's why we were successful.
