STORM HEAD COACH BRIAN AGLER:
On the second half:
We had some opportunities; we just couldn't take advantage of them.

On using small lineups extensively down the stretch:
Obviously Yolanda (Griffith) got hurt there early and Ashley (Robinson)'s got some Achilles issues that she's working through and she didn't look like she could go. Shyra (Ely) looked liked she was doing a good job, so that's the way we went.

On the team's focus:
I think we had some breakdowns. Usually every game you have a series of breakdowns whether you win or lose. When you get beat, things become hyphenated that way. It just happens. We did have some breakdowns late and they took advantage of it.

GUARD SUE BIRD:
On the difference in the game after halftime:
I think they started making some shots and we had a lot of opportunities to really take control of the game and we let those slip. And then we had opportunities to make plays and win the game even though we had lost the lead, and we let those slip. They made the most of it.

On the importance of the loss:
It's disappointing. We've only won one game on the road so far this season, and this one was against a team we only get to play three times this season. We were one and one coming in, and now we're down 2-1 and that could come back and haunt us. It's the first game of a back-to-back. There's a lot of reasons this one hurt, especially because we were in control in the first half. It's disappointing. I guess that's the beauty of the WNBA. You play quickly and try to get a win on the road against Houston.

SAN ANTONIO HEAD COACH DAN HUGHES:
On the game:
Good basketball game today. I think Seattle is such a quality opponent and they really delivered a blow to us during the first half. Sue Bird was nearly unstoppable during the first half. The first half presented a problem for our team early on. I appreciated the way our team hung around even if we didn't get control of the game until the last bit of the fourth quarter.

Tonight is a quality win. Seattle is a heck of a basketball team and we were very fortunate to make the last run.

On the difference in the halves:
We did a far better job on Sue Bird during the second half. Helen Darling spent a lot of time chasing and working Sue the entire night. We had some really great plays down inside. I thought Sophia Young, Ann Wauters and Ruth Riley all helped us get things done inside, which really helped us latter in the game.

On the San Antonio backcourt:
Becky Hammon did a great job of distributing the ball tonight. Becky had three assists and no turnovers tonight, which is really good with the amount of attention she was getting tonight. Vickie Johnson was a key for us tonight. We got the ball in VJ's hands late, but she got into situations and converted or got to the foul line.

GUARD HELEN DARLING:
On defending Bird:
Sue Bird is an awesome player. Tonight I just tried to frustrate her and get my hands on the ball. I didn't want it to be easy for her to score or set good defense. My main objective tonight was to harass her and frustrate her game.

On Johnson's play:
Vickie Johnson is a great veteran player. I love playing with VJ. VJ plays every game for the moment which makes it great to play on her team. VJ can still play with the best and that's why she's an All-Star.
