    STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:

    On the game:
It’s good not just to be in [the playoffs], but to be playing that kind of basketball. We always talk about needing two of our three perimeter players to step up, and tonight Betty (Lennox) and Sue (Bird) really stepped up big. It’s nice to get into the playoffs on this note and hopefully we can get some momentum and finish this regular season on this kind of note.

Betty was incredible, and I though Sue, too, both were really aggressive and gave Lauren a little bit of time to settle in. We talked before the game about getting to the free-throw line and Betty really did a great job of not settling for the outside shot. It definitely puts pressure on the defense when she drives.

    On the third-quarter run:
We talked to Lauren (Jackson) at halftime about just trying to lose herself in the game. She did a great job in the third quarter, coming out strong and making them guard her. She is a very special, one-of-a-kind player.

    FORWARD LAUREN JACKSON:

    On the game:
It was very hard to play this game tonight. I’m just glad that we’ve made the playoffs now and I can rest for a few days.

    GUARD BETTY LENNOX:

    On the game:
We didn’t want teams to just keep losing and help us out. We knew ahead of time that we just needed one to get in and we just wanted to use that energy to get it tonight.

I felt like tonight I could just throw up anything and it would go in. It’s all fun when you win like this, when you put that effort out there and then see the victory at the end.

    On Lauren Jackson being back:
Just her presence on the court makes such a difference. She came out and did well and we appreciate her going out there to work with us tonight.

    WASHINGTON HEAD COACH TREE ROLLINS:

    On the game:
They came out fighting for the same thing we are and then found out that Houston lost and got ahead early. They are a good team; with Lauren [Jackson] back they are a much different team and we had trouble in the first half with our forwards. She’s too much for most of our five’s and was in her zone tonight. We knew it was going to be tough coming in and it’s been a tough road trip.

    GUARD MONIQUE CURRY:

    On the game:
We just have to move onto the next one. They came out in the second half determined and got us back on our heels. We couldn’t compete with that.

    On the roadtrip:
The road trip has been tough, especially this West Coast swing, but I think we’ve done pretty well so far.

    On Betty Lennox’s performance tonight:
She was in the zone and sometimes players just can’t miss a shot and she just couldn’t miss a shot.
