STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:

On the loss:
Detroit is a very powerful team with an inside game that is tough for our starters to match, let alone our bench players to match. I was pleased we did a good job and held our own in the backcourt with them.

On not having Lauren Jackson or Janell Burse:
We're missing 32 and 15 from Janell [Burse] and Lauren [Jackson] so our post players tried their best to fill in for them. Now we go home and get Lauren back and hopefully this experience will help us fill in the hole with Janell [Burse].

DETROIT HEAD COACH BILL LAIMBEER:

On Ivory Latta:
Latta has a lot of energy. She didn’t get a lot of time this year because there are a lot of good guards. When she does get her time she actually contributes, for the second of third time this year she’s gone out there and posted good numbers. She’s definitely a crowd favorite, and a team favorite, we love to watch her play.

On Saturday’s game against Indiana:
We know what our task is, we have one more game to go for home court advantage throughout the playoffs, and it’s a television game, and we want to play well.

On holding on to their lead:
We lost a little bit of focus there in the second quarter, not playing as hard as we should have. It was good to see us come out and start the third quarter and say ‘This is our game, let’s take care of business.’

FORWARD PLENETTE PIERSON:

On playing without Cheryl Ford:
That’s the kind of team we have, any given night, anybody can step up. We’re missing Cheryl [Ford] and she’s a big part of everything that we do, but there are a lot of great players right behind her that can step up any night.

On what point they put Seattle away:
I think mid-third quarter was when we finally just said ‘We can just put them away and don’t look back.’ We have problems when we’re up early and have mental lapses and don’t really put teams away until late in the game, but we took advantage of the fuel level that we had and the way we were playing and put [Seattle] away early.

CENTER KARA BRAXTON:

On the game:
We had five days off, so we had some time to rest up, and we just came out and played great as a whole team, everybody came out and played their best. With a whole team effort like that, you can’t go wrong.
