    STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:

On Lauren Jackson scoring her 4,000th point:
It happened so quickly and it was in the flow. She just continues to dominate, doesn't she?

On any question that Jackson is the MVP:
None. There was no question before our last game. I was talking to the media on our East Coast road trip and there was never a question in my mind. Certainly after the all-star break she continued to step up. (Tamika) Catchings was one of her biggest competitors and the nominee coming out of the Eastern Conference. But even if Catchings was healthy, Lauren is completely dominating. It's on both ends of the floor and it hasn't been in the past. She's always been very efficient offensively, and defensively she's been a good player and this year she's become a great player. She's been rebounding the basketball and blocking shots, and working very hard at the defensive end.

On the defense in the first half:
Great! I thought that we were really focused. We took away the things that they wanted to do, in particular our posts. They had one field goal in the first quarter and I really thought that JB (Janell Burse) really led the way.

    On Wendy Palmer:
Wendy is continuing to rebound for us and put the ball in the basket. She's high energy and we going to keep using her as much as we can.

    GUARD SUE BIRD:

    On the game:
It was a really great win. Tonight we proved that what we can do on the court, especially considering that they're one of the best teams in the league. We feel more comfortable and hopefully we can use the win as momentum into the next game.

On the intensity in the first half:
That's the type of intensity that we need to come out with for the next nine games. Right now we're taking it one game at a time, but we know we have nine games left.

    On her knee:
Each day it's getting better and better. With each game I get more comfortable and tonight I felt semi-normal, which is good because its very frustrating when you don't feel like yourself.

    On the standings:
Lately we've been talking a lot about our standings. We were 12-12 and now are 13-12. In locker room discussions I think that everyone agrees that we're a team full of talent that has definitely underachieved, having a .500 record at this point in the season is not where we want to be.

    FORWARD LAUREN JACKSON:

    On getting her 4,000th point:
It was a relief. There was such a big deal made about it, I was kind of nervous before the game.

We just knew that we had to win. We were unselfish at the beginning of the game and everyone just came out to win. That's how we need to be the last nine games.
