    STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:
    On the win:
Well it feels good to score some points, see our 3-point shot come back with a vengeance. It’s nice to see with all three, in Betty (Lennox), Lauren (Jackson) and Sue (Bird).

    On the second half:
We hit shots in the second half. Sue came out and just broke it wide open. Lauren was setting some tremendous screens for her to get open and frankly they didn’t know what to do with it. Every time it seemed like they made adjustments, Sue and Lauren made a really good adjustment offensively.

    GUARD SUE BIRD:
    On her defense:
To do anything on the defensive end, I realize that it starts with me defensively, being the point guard and the first person to guard the ball. I just try and play as aggressively as I can on the defensive end and let everything go from there.

    On the win:
We haven’t really been getting those Ws like we want. So to do it in this fashion is really good for our morale.

    On the offensive rebounds:
Offensive rebounds are backbreakers. I know when I’m on defense and the other team shots it and then they get the offensive rebound it’s like ‘Ugh, we have to play defense again.’ So for us to do it a couple times in a row and then to knock the 3 down, that just kills the other team.

SAN ANTONIO HEAD COACH DAN HUGHES:
    On the game:
I don’t think the score is completely indicative of the game. They really made a strong run during the last part of the second half. Lauren Jackson played extremely well and Sue Bird got it going in the second half. When they have those two elements going, they’re in pretty good shape. Offensively, we were in a pretty good flow and defensively we had a hard time stopping them. Jackson hurt us early inside and then she went to the perimeter a little bit … that’s why she’s so difficult to guard. They really got the crowd into it. I thought the crowd really got behind them tonight and Seattle played with a sense of urgency. We’re on the second day of a back-to-back and competed pretty good, but sometimes (fatigue) shows up in the last 10 minutes of the second half.

    On the positives:
Katie Feenstra’s game was a big positive. Her play was pretty strong. The first time we played here, she had a hard time dealing with the quickness of everyone, but she’s coming along pretty well. Our guard play offensively was what we need and I felt good about our flow offensively. We weren’t getting the stops we needed defensively. Shyra Ely also came off the bench and played well for us.

    GUARD MARIE FERDINAND:
On getting as close as one in the second half:
We were right there, but we couldn’t make the stops we needed down the stretch to get over that hump. We also had some turnovers that they took advantage of down the stretch as well. Lauren came through for them, but even before Lauren those three consecutive shots by Bird were really crucial. That got the crowd into it and energized their whole team and they just went from there.

    On positives:
I thought we competed tonight. The effort was there and we all played hard. We had some players off the bench that did well - Shyra and Katie especially. We can’t let this loss overshadow the good things that we did. The score doesn’t indicate our effort - we played hard and competed.

    On moving forward:
We go back home, regroup and we have three days to prepare for Indiana. We need to come in like we’ve been doing all season, play hard in practice and prepare for Indiana.
