    STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:
    On the game:
Defensively, we’re talking about the same things here, unfortunately. When a team shoots 59, almost 60%, it’s going to be hard to get a win. We’ve got to get a little bit more aggressive defensively and figure out how we can, one through five, play better defensively.

When they got shots, they got pretty good looks from the perimeter, sometimes uncontested jump shots. We’ve got to keep plugging away. We’ve got to keep plugging away and making sure it gets better.

    On Sue Bird's second-half shooting:
She came out of the locker room in the second half really energized. I think she was 0-for-6 in the first half – had some good looks she just didn’t knock down. In the second half, she came out fired up, responded exactly the way we would have wanted her to.

    On the Mystics physical play:
I think we responded okay to that. I think it might have fired them up some. We talked about, when they were happening, that they were trying to get in our heads and to play that much more physical at that point of the game and not let them get in our heads.

    On Temeka Johnson's performance:
Temeka Johnson set us up all game long by going off the dribble, going off the dribble. That last jump shot, she [Sue] was playing her to go off the dribble and she pulled up. Great composure. Rookie player hitting a big shot.

    On moving forward:
We just keep working on it, keep getting better. Keep emphasizing the same things that we’ve been talking about for the last month are going to make a difference. That’s the only way we’re going to get back into the hunt, if we start defending better.

It’s very frustrating for everybody, not just for me but for every player in that locker room, to realize that we’re not living up to their potential.

    FORWARD LAUREN JACKSON:
    On the Storm:
Right now, we’re killing ourselves. We’re not helping each other out and we’re not playing Storm basketball, which is why we’re not winning. It’s frustrating to be out there and it’s frustrating to sit here and talk to you guys, because I don’t know what it’s going to take. We drill this stuff, we train hard. We do everything we’re supposed to do off the court.

    GUARD SUE BIRD:
    On the game:
I got good looks in the first half. I think I took probably a similar amount of shots in the first and second halves. I was just one, probably a little ticked off about missing those good looks, and two, they just fell.

On the Storm's execution late in the game:
They did a good job. They realized that we were taking advantage of the pick-and-roll, and they put DeLisha Milton-Jones on me so they could just switch. They did that, and then I had Chasity Melvin on me, and it was just a miscommunication. I was trying to tell the post player who was on the block to get out so I could go one-on-one, and next thing I know, I look up and there wasn’t a lot of time left, so I tried to make something happen and I fumbled it.
