    STORM COACH ANNE DONOVAN:
    On the game:
We just couldn’t finish shots. We didn’t shoot well and it’s difficult to win with bad shooting. It may have been fatigue, but that’s why you need to take advantage of first few games, in Minnesota and in Los Angeles, on a trip like this. No one likes to go 0-4 on a trip, but you’re going to have an off night every now and then. This ended a long four-game trip and it ended a long month where we were on the road a lot. It’s important to get a win back in Seattle before we go into Phoenix.

    GUARD SUE BIRD:
    On the Silver Stars:
They were very aggressive. I think they are better than they know they are, and better than what others think of them. With a team like that you can’t let them hang around and build confidence. If you looked at records, people would say it’s a Seattle win going into the game, but they played well and built confidence.

    FORWARD LAUREN JACKSON:
    On the game:
We had a really bad night even though we did the little things that should help you win. We rebounded well, especially defensively, but we couldn’t shoot very well. We didn’t finish and they did. They had a really good game.

    On the Storm's losing streak:
We need to focus more and get better at doing the little things all the time. We need to regain our confidence and we will do that by getting back to our roots.

SAN ANTONIO HEAD COACH DAN HUGHES:
    On the game:
Looking at the game, I felt good. This was the fourth straight game where the opponent has shot in the 30’s or low 40’s against us and that helps us a lot defensively. I felt good about the balanced play. We had all five starters in double figures.

    On his team's play:
By and large, the second half is as good offensively as we’ve played. We’re getting better defensively, but our rebounding is still a work in progress. It took Lauren Jackson 22 shots to get her points and we were able to stay in the plays with Sue Bird and Betty Lennox.

    On the big picture:
We’re 2-2 in our last four games. If we’d been better offensively we might be better than that. I like what the team is trying to do. We had a good flow to the game and we didn’t let their feature players dominate the game.

    GUARD SHANNON JOHNSON:
    On coming home:
Coming home was good for us. We needed it. The road trip was pretty tough. We needed to have the fans behind us. The next two home games are going to be important.

On the play of the Silver Stars posts:
It was tough in the post tonight, but we have a lot of confidence in them and know what they can do. We’ve been together a long time now. The post was working hard and we wanted to get the ball into them.

    GUARD DALMA IVANYI:
    On defending Bird:
I wanted to come out and make it hard for her to catch the basketball. A lot of the time people see the mismatch and they get careless with their passing. I think that’s what happened in the beginning.

    On the game:
We had great team defense. We started the game focused and brought an offensive flow. We played as a team.

On her key 3-pointer late in the game:
I heard people yelling to shoot the ball and I saw the shot clock winding down. Sue Bird was on my right and I knew I couldn’t take that shot, so I shifted to the left. I thought it might hit the rim and Katie Feenstra would get the rebound. Because we played good tonight, I think we had luck on our side. Someone thought we deserved to win the game.
