Palmer averaged 10.1 points and 6.2 rebounds (13th in WNBA) in 25 appearances last season for the San Antonio Silver Stars. The 6-2 forward also shot a career-best 51.3% from the field, the sixth-best mark in the league in 2005.
"The addition of Wendy to the Storm roster helps fill our need for a seasoned veteran who will make us a more competitive team," Donovan said. "Wendy’s ability to shoot the 3 and mix it up in the low post will give us added depth in our post. During this off-season, we were committed to finding a player with veteran experience to complement our current roster and Wendy is the perfect fit."

Palmer was originally selected in the second round (ninth pick overall) of the 1997 WNBA Elite Draft and has spent time with three franchises (Utah/San Antonio, Detroit and Orlando/Connecticut) during her nine seasons in the league.
"I’m excited to play for an organization that has achieved success on and off the court," said Palmer. "My experience in the WNBA will be a nice addition to the young, talented Storm roster as we work together toward another championship."
Palmer was named to the All-WNBA Second Team in 1997, selected to the WNBA All-Star Team in 2000 and earned WNBA Co-Most Improved honors in 2004.
