SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm and Olivia, a premier national travel and entertainment company, announced today a multi-year partnership agreement. The Storm is the first professional sports team Olivia has sponsored in its 35-year history.
“We are particularly excited about this relationship because of the tremendous brand of the Seattle Storm,” said Olivia General Manager Lisa Henderson. “I’ve spent more than two decades working with some of the top consumer and technology companies in the world ranging from Nestle to MSN, and I am so impressed by the incredible fan and community support for the Storm. We have many customers who are loyal Storm fans and we anticipate our relationship with the Storm will bring us many new customers as well.”
Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2008, Olivia is one of the largest charters of the Seattle-based cruise line Holland America and grosses over $4.7 million in annual sales. Olivia’s customer base and excursions span the globe. Entertainers and athletes aligned with Olivia have included stars such as Melissa Etheridge, Heart, KD Lang, Missy Higgins, Paula Cole, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and the Storm’s own Sheryl Swoopes.
“Olivia is a national company that can choose any number of businesses to partner with,” said Storm CEO Karen Bryant. “We are very pleased that they have chosen the Storm as the first sports team anywhere in the country to sponsor.”
The first year of the partnership between Olivia and the Storm will include in-game entertainment, with emerging musical artists performing at Storm games during halftime and a trip giveaway on an Olivia Cruise line for two lucky Storm fans. Olivia will also promote their Olivia Fling™ four day party and play weekend packages built around Storm home games.
