I've always loved basketball and, as I blew through different locations I would periodically stop to watch people play playground hoops. Most of the players would usually get upset with me because I would always bring the wind and rain with me. I have forced a lot of teams to play inside.
My first visit to Seattle was in 1940. I was blowing through the area, when I met up with a gal named Galloping Gertie. Man, could she dance! That relationship fell apart pretty quickly though.
I returned in 1962 during the great Columbus Day Storm and I really liked it here. I finally decided to make the Pacific Northwest my home when I blew in with the 1993 Inaugural Day Storm. I spend most of my time in the Seattle-area, but if the local five-day-forecast looks sunny and warm I catch those San Juan gale-force winds and stretch my legs with another weather system.

One day I was looking to grab a shower near KeyArena when I came across a press conference announcing the WNBA's newest team -- the Seattle Storm. Excited to get involved with indoor basketball, I contacted the Storm about being their official mascot. There were other natural phenomena that tried out for the position, but for me, it was a breeze. Lightning was just a flash in the pan and couldn't go anywhere without his brother Thunder, who was really loud and obnoxious. Avalanche just kept falling down and Sleet was far too cold.
Now that I have this great job, I want to stay in Seattle and have fun with the fans while cheering the Storm to victory. So if you see me on the floor, in the aisles or on the streets, be sure to wave and yell "Go Storm."
