SEATTLE - Storm All-Star Lauren Jackson has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played June 11-17, the WNBA announced today. The honor is the eighth of Jackson’s career and the first for a Storm player in 2007.

Jackson averaged 22.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 2.0 bpg while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from behind the arc as Seattle posted a 2-1 mark during the week. She poured in 30 points in an 84-71 win over Houston on June 15, her third 30-point effort already this season and the 11th of her career. Jackson connected on a career-high-tying five three-pointers in the game. Earlier in the week, Jackson became just the 10th player in WNBA history to surpass 1,500 rebounds for her career.
