Playing without the starting backcourt of Sue Bird and Tanisha Wright, the Storm struggled in the second game of a back-to-back set against two of the East's top teams, losing 72-48 Wednesday in Indiana. Wright is bothered by a strained groin, while Bird sat out for precautionary reasons and to get some rest during this road trip. In their absence, the Storm struggled with turnovers against the Fever's pressure, giving the ball away 29 times. So while the Storm outshot Indiana from the field, the Fever had 24 more attempts. The Storm was able to keep things close for a half before Indiana pulled away with an 11-0 run to end the third quarter.
Because of the turnovers - which tied a franchise record - the Storm could never get anything going on offense. Svetlana Abrosimova, with 11 points and eight rebounds - both season highs - was the only Storm player to score double figures. The Storm was held to fewer than 50 points for the first time since the 2008 season finale. Katie Douglas led Indiana with 16 points and Tamika Catchings adding 13 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

"Obviously, very tough for us with our two top point guards unavailable. That’s what happens. We have to learn to adjust. We had way too many turnovers."
