storm.wnba.com Celebrates Anne Donovanís 100th Win!

THE ROAD TO 100 WINS
With the Storm's victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Aug. 18, 2005, Seattle Storm Head Coach Anne Donovan became the fourth coach in WNBA history - and the first female coach - to reach 100 wins in her WNBA career (Van Chancellor, Michael Cooper and Richie Adubato are the others).

The Seattle Storm and storm.wnba.com salute Anne on this important accomplishment!

It's just another milestone in a career full of them for Donovan, who has already become the first woman to coach a team to the WNBA Championship as well as the first coach ever to take two different teams to the WNBA Finals.

Reaction to Anne's Milestone

Storm guard Sue Bird:
I'm honored and privileged to be a part of that, to know that she's making history with every win and with every championship as the first female to do so. I'm sure it's something she's proud of, and we're proud of her.

Storm forward Lauren Jackson:
That's awesome for her.

Storm guard Betty Lennox:
I'm excited for her. I just miss the opportunity of being a part of getting her that 100th win, but I think it's exciting and look to get her past 100 wins this year. I know there are going to be opportunities down the line to add to it.

Minnesota Coach Suzie McConnell Serio:
Thatís a milestone and a tremendous accomplishment. Sheís done a great job - when she was in Charlotte and here, sheís done a great job with her teams. She always has them ready to play. Iím happy for her, but unfortunately it came against us Ö but sheís a great coach.

Sacramento Coach John Whisenant:
I didnít have to see her win 100 games to know she was a good coach. There are certain people you recognize on the other bench when they are making the right moves and adjusting and their teams are competitive and are sound fundamentally and hers have always been that way, so I made my judgment without her winning 100 games.
