SEATTLE - Storm center
Janell Burse underwent successful surgery today to repair damaged ligaments in her left wrist. The operation was performed by Dr. Carleton Keck at Swedish Memorial Hospital in Seattle. Burse will be required to wear a soft cast for approximately six weeks before beginning rehabilitation.
In her seventh WNBA season, Burse started 29 games for the Storm, averaging 8.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Burse posted three double-doubles this year and led the team in rebounding five times, including her career-best 19-rebound outing vs. Phoenix on May 23. Burse grabbed a WNBA-record 16 rebounds in the first half of that game.
