Kevin Pelton, StormBasketball.com | Aug. 11, 2011

All week long, StormBasketball.com will count down Sue Bird Top 10s, from her best photos to her best games, as part of our look back at her decade in Seattle. The celebration culminates with Saturday's game against the Atlanta Dream (7:00 p.m., )Arrive early to get your limited-edition Sue Bird Decade Bobblehead while supplies last

Today, it's the best photos from Bird's career.

Because Bird is usually so calm and collected, my favorite photos of her tend to involve her showing her emotions on the court, like this high five with teammates from late in the 2009 season.

Just a fun, random photo from the archives. Bird had nice touch as a barista when she appeared at Starbucks for a promotion.

Unfortunately, most of Neil's top photographs from this season have already been used as part of the celebration of Sue's 10th season in one way or another. This is the one that slipped through the cracks. I like the way she's studying the defense (and, I suspect, peeking at the shot clock) before making her move.

In the postgame huddle after a win during the 2009 season, Bird flashed a wide smile that ended up perfectly framed by the players around her.

My favorite photo from the 2004 WNBA championship captured Bird leaping into the arms of teammate Tully Bevilaqua to celebrate. This was actually a bit before the end of the game, but when it had become clear the Storm was going to win.

I loved the way Terrence captured Sue connecting with the youngsters at the First A.M.E. Reading and Learning Center as the Storm showed off the renovations done to the center by Storm staff with the aid of WNBA Cares.

The smoke and lighting the Storm used for intros during last year's WNBA Finals provided for some great, unique backdrops for photos. Here's Bird getting ready to run out.

Blowout wins at KeyArena - and we've seen a lot of them over the years - tend to produce some great photos of Sue and LJ on the bench, enjoying the chance to cheer on their teammates while resting and occasionally cracking each other up.

My favorite action shot of Sue managed to record the moment just after she'd delivered a no-look pass against the Minnesota Lynx as the ball was still en route to its eventual destination.

This is my favorite photo of Sue not only because of the context (the Storm celebrating last year's championship) but also the depth of the emotion here in the hug between Sue and LJ, who had spent six years together trying to recapture the title. This was the emotional release of accomplishing such an important goal.
