
Bird Back in Seattle, Under Contract

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm announced today that All-Star guard
Sue Bird is back in Seattle and under contract after winning the Russian Superleague earlier this week. Bird returned to Seattle late Friday night, and joined the team at practice this morning.

Lauren Jackson led their Spartak Moscow Region squad over CSKA Samara 88-72 in the winner-take-all Game 5 of their Finals series. Bird scored 13 points and hit three three-pointers in the championship game. Jackson led the Spartak scoring attack with 17 points.

Anne Donovan. “She brings a wealth of championship experience with her back to the Storm. She’s won at every level, and she is coming back with a lot of momentum after winning the Superleague in Russia. It feels like things are starting to fall into place with our entire roster in tact.”
As per team policy, terms of her new contract with the Storm were not released
