  • “Suzy is one of the most dominant centers in the world and we are very enthusiastic to have signed her this season.” Donovan said. “Not only is she is a proven talent as a strong force below the basket, she is also a good passer with a nice touch on the ball.”

Batkovic averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds with Valenciennes in France during the 2002-03 season. She was also a teammate of the Storm’s All-Star forward Lauren Jackson on the bronze-medal-winning Australian National Team at the 2002 World Championships in China.

“I have known and played with Suzy for a number of years in Australia,” said Jackson. “I’m excited to have her join the Storm this summer and think she’ll be a great addition to our roster.”

The Storm will open the 2005 WNBA season on Saturday, May 21 against Western Conference rival the Los Angeles Sparks at KeyArena.
