Storm Waive Wolvert, Add Pickney

Pickney
The Seattle Storm today requested waivers on free agent forward Angelina Wolvert and added free agent forward Elizabeth Pickney to the training camp roster, Storm General Manager and Head Coach Lin Dunn announced.

Wolvert was allocated by the WNBA to the Storm as a free agent on April 26. The Cleveland Rockers selected Wolvert in the third round of the 2001 WNBA Draft. She appeared in one game for the Rockers before being waived.

The Sacramento Monarchs waived Pickney on May 6. She was selected as the 60th overall pick in the fourth round by the Monarchs in the 2002 WNBA Draft. Pickney played four seasons at the University of Arizona where she was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team in her junior and senior seasons. She ranks eighth in the Pac-10 for all-time blocked shots leaders and is one of two Wildcats to top 1,500 points and 700 rebounds in her career. She is Arizona’s career leader in games started with 112 and played in 121 consecutive games.

The roster must be cut down to 11 active players on May 24.
