Lennox Fined, Thompson Suspended

NEW YORK - WNBA Director of Basketball Operations Tracy Ellis-Ward announced today that Tamecka Dixon of the Los Angeles Sparks has been fined $500 and suspended without pay for one game for pushing Seattle’s Betty Lennox in the face.

The incident occurred with 1:34 remaining in the second half of the Sparks’ 82-81 victory in Los Angeles on Friday, September 3. Dixon will serve her one-game suspension Wednesday, September 8, at Phoenix.

Lennox was fined $500 for her role in the altercation.

Los Angeles forward DeLisha Milton-Jones, currently out for the season with a knee injury, and Seattle forward Alicia Thompson, were both fined $500 and suspended for one game without pay for leaving the bench during the altercation. Thompson will miss the Storm’s home game vs. the Detroit Shock on Wednesday, September 8. Milton-Jones will miss the first game of the 2005 regular season.
