Jackson To Miss Three Games
The Storm also announced that center Janell Burse, who missed the last five games due to right hip bursitis, has been activated. In a related roster move, the Storm placed Jackson, who just returned from winning a silver medal with the Australian National Team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, on the injured list with a right mid-foot sprain. Per WNBA rules, she will miss three games while on the injured list.
Prior to the Olympic break, Jackson, who had started every game this season, was averaging a WNBA-leading 20.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in 25 games.
During her Storm career, Jackson has missed eight games. The Storm is 3-5 in those games, winning three of the four games she missed to start the 2002 season with a sprained right ankle. The Storm lost all three of its games without Jackson during her rookie 2001 campaign and suffered a 79-70 loss at Indiana last year in the only game Jackson missed.
Burse returns to the active roster averaging 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 20 games.
Tonight’s game will be televised on Fox Sports Net with Jim Watson and Mary Murphy calling the action. It will also be broadcast on Sports Radio 950 KJR AM with David Locke providing the play-by-play and Elise Woodward serving as the game analyst.
