Frierson Has Successful Knee Surgery

SEATTLE – Seattle Storm forward Trina Frierson had successful arthroscopic surgery on her left knee yesterday, Storm Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Anne Donovan announced.

Frierson is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

A 6-2 rookie from Louisiana Tech, Frierson was the Storm’s second-round pick (19th overall) in the 2004 WNBA Draft.

Frierson was an AP All-America honorable mention as a senior and was named to the All-WAC First Team in 2003 and 2004. She averaged 12.4 points and 6.0 rebounds in 127 career games for the Lady Techsters.

The Storm tips off the 2004 WNBA season on Thursday, May 20 against the Minnesota Lynx at KeyArena. Seattle will play one home preseason game on Sunday, May 16 against the Phoenix Mercury at KeyArena at 6 p.m.
