Barnes Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury

The Seattle Storm today announced that 5-11 forward Adia Barnes will miss the rest of the 2003 WNBA regular season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee against the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday, July 5.

Barnes has been placed on the injured list and will undergo surgery at a later date.

Barnes, a six-year WNBA veteran, had started all 16 games and was averaging 5.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 24.8 minutes. She grabbed a season-high nine rebounds against the Sparks before being injured late in the game.
