The Seattle Storm opens 2005 training camp looking to defend the WNBA Championship the Storm brought home last season. Coach Anne Donovan and company - a group limited with several players playing overseas at the start of camp - are working harder than ever to keep the Storm on top. The first week of training camp is spent at the Sonics and Storm practice facility, The Furtado Center, before the Storm travels to New York to scrimmage WNBA teams and play the New York Liberty in the preseason opener on May 7. The Storm returns home after that and will play a second preseason game on May 14 at KeyArena vs. Sacramento.
