With the 19th pick of the second round of the 2004 WNBA Draft, the Storm selected Louisiana Tech forward Catrina Frierson. A two-time First Team All-WAC selection, Frierson was an AP All-America honorable mention as a senior and averaged 12.4 points and 6.0 rebounds in 127 career games for the Lady Techsters. The Storm had just one selection in this year’s draft as a result of two previous trades. On May 20, 2003, Seattle dealt its third-round pick to the Houston Comets for guard Rita Williams. On Thursday, Apr. 15, the Storm traded its first-round pick (sixth overall) and forward Amanda Lassiter to the Minnesota Lynx for forward/guard Sheri Sam and center Janell Burse.
