The Seattle Storm is always looking for bright, energetic people who want to work hard and play hard as part of one of the world's premier women's sports teams. Are you looking for hands-on experience, mentoring and resume building in the field of professional sports? If so, the Seattle Storm Internship Program may be for you.

Seattle Storm interns spend up to 6 months focusing on one area of the organization, while still getting the chance to experience the total spectrum of running a team. Interns leave with experience and success designed to launch them on the career path of their choice. While Seattle Storm internships are unpaid, the experience gained is priceless. College credit is available. We are proud to offer the following internship for summer 2015:

What you will do:

  • Support Marketing Partnerships through research, development and implementation of marketing and activation platforms for Storm partners
  • Assist in creation and development of sponsor contracts and related documentation
  • Assure the fulfillment of contractual obligations
  • Track inventory assets
  • Work with Marketing Partnerships Manager to assure high level of corporate service and communications
  • Gather and maintain proof of performance for all deliverables
  • Create reports demonstrating fulfillment-
  • Develop mid-season and end of season partner recaps
  • Assist in all aspects of activation including game night, corporate and community events

What you will learn:

  • How corporate sponsorships are formed, valued and closed
  • What it takes to successfully maintain partner relationships
  • What happens behind the scenes at a professional sports team, particularly as it relates to business development, partnerships and sponsorship
  • How to communicate to partners and demonstrate to them the value of the partnership

What we ask of you:

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, especially PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop a plus
  • Creative, motivated, well organized with excellent follow-through
  • Preference given to graduate-level students and/or those who have some experience working in sports
  • Flexible work hours including at least 20 hours per week in the office plus nights and weekend, working at all Storm home games.
  • Start date is in May. Preference given to interns who can stay through the end of the Storm season, typically through September.
  • Reliable, professional, able to represent Storm in a positive manner at all times
