Who do I make the check out to? Why not the Storm?
Seattle Storm Foundation is a 501(c)3 corporation that funds the purchase of tickets requested by non-profit organizations that support youth in our area. By making a donation to the Foundation, you are making a tax deductible donation to the fund this charitable endeavor.
Do you accept a corporate match?
Yes. Please let your sales representative know if you work for an organization that will match your contribution. We will contact them.
How are the tickets distributed? To which organizations do they go?
The Storm works with many youth-serving organizations to distribute tickets to deserving children. Tickets are distributed through many partners, including Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Seattle Parks and Recreation, and many more!
If I want to purchase and donate the tickets to an organization Iím affiliated with, can I do that?
We have many organizations that request tickets throughout the year. We make every attempt to accommodate as many of these as possible. If you have an organization that aligns with our Foundationís goals, you can contact our Foundation or Community Relations department and we will try to accommodate your request.
If I know of a deserving organization or group of kids, can I request tickets? If so, how?
Yes, we always welcome the opportunity to learn more about the many organizations that serve youth in our community. The organization should contact the Storm directly to help facilitate the process. They may request tickets using the online form on the Tickets for Kids page of StormBasketball.com, or by contacting the Community Relations department at 206-217-WNBA(9622).
Approximately how many tickets are donated each season?
The number of tickets donated varies based on the amount of funds available through the Foundation. Our goal is to ensure that all money donated to the Tickets for Kids program is used to bring youth to games.
If I canít use my tickets, can I donate them through the Storm?
Unfortunately, we cannot use tickets donated by an individual as a tax deductible donation to the foundation. Organizations require sections of seating grouped together on dates that work for them. It is very difficult to match single use tickets with an organizations needs. We suggest you donate the tickets to a charitable organization of your choice that is able to use them.
How much of my donation is tax deductible?
The tax deductible donation amount is equal to the donation minus any received benefit (i.e. basketball, jersey, etc.)
Who are some of the major donors or sponsors of Tickets for Kids?
Donors to the Tickets for Kids program range from individuals to corporations. Some of our highest-giving donors are recognized on our Tickets for Kids website.
