Policies and Procedures
The Seattle Storm is committed to being a strong community partner, helping non-profit organizations throughout the state through our In-Kind Donations program. We feel that community involvement is not only the responsibility of the team, but also an opportunity to show our support for the great number of organizations which work tirelessly to help those in need.
Making a Request:
Eligibility
The Storm will donate to non-profits that serve women and girls, promote youth education and literacy or health and fitness as well as basketball programs. All requests for autographed memorabilia are limited to auction and/or raffle activities designed to raise funds for registered charities in Washington State. Preference is given to charities where the funds go directly to those in need.
Requests from non-profit associations fundraising for operating expenses are not considered.
The Storm does not donate merchandise to be used as prizes or volunteer recognition gifts.
Application Process
- All requests must be submitted in writing on the letterhead of the requesting organization and state the nature of the event, the date of the event, and how the funds will be used.
- Note that Community Relations staff are more likely to be able to successfully respond to your request if they have plenty of lead time.

Processing Your Request
- The Storm Charitable Review Committee will make every effort to process your request at least three weeks prior to your event.
- We ask that telephone inquiries regarding status not be made due to the high volume of requests received.
- All decisions made by the Storm Charitable Review Committee are final.
Following Up
- We ask that organizations, which receive a donation from the Storm, submit the follow-up form (pdf) specifying the amount raised by our donation and the amount raised through the fundraising event.
- This form should be submitted to Wyjuana Montgomery at the above address within two weeks (fourteen days) of your fundraising event.
