USA Team of the Year

Storm point guard Sue Bird helped lead the USA to an unprecedented fifth-straight gold medal at the London Olympic Games and on January 10, USA Basketball named its U.S. Men’s and Women’s Olympic/National Teams as co-recipients of the 2012 USA Basketball Team of the Year.

Storm point guard Sue Bird has been busy rehabbing after undergoing hip surgery in October. In a Q and A with StormBasketball.com, Bird relates that she's back on the court to practice at her alma mater, UConn, in anticipation of reporting to Russian team UMMC Ekaterinburg at the start of January.

Brummel to Connecticut HOF

Lisa Brummel of Force 10 Hoops, the Storm's ownership group, is getting some well-deserved accolades for her basketball exploits on the floor. The Connecticut Women's Basketball Hall of Fame will induct Brummel as part of its Class of 2013 based on Brummel's career at Yale University from 1977-81.
