SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Silver Stars General Manager and Head Coach Dan Hughes announced today that former Silver Stars guard and two-time WNBA All-Star Vickie Johnson has been named an assistant coach.

"We are thrilled to welcome Vickie back to the Silver Stars family,” said Hughes. “One of the greatest joys is watching a former outstanding player become an outstanding coach. Vickie will be a wonderful addition for the players, staff and community."

"I want to thank Coach Hughes, the Silver Stars and Spurs Sports & Entertainment for the opportunity to begin my WNBA coaching career,” said Johnson. “I look forward to devoting all my energy to the Silver Stars coaching staff, players and community."
