Silver Stars Re-Sign Ferdinand-Harris

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The San Antonio Silver Stars have re-signed all-star guard Marie Ferdinand-Harris, announced Dan Hughes, head coach and general manager.

Ferdinand-Harris missed the 2006 season after giving birth to her first child in June. A three-time all-star, Ferdinand-Harris has averaged 13.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game during her five-year WNBA career. She began her career in Utah in 2001, then followed the franchise to San Antonio and is the only remaining roster player from the franchise’s move to Texas.

“I am so excited to re-sign with the Silver Stars,” said Ferdinand Harris. “I obviously love the direction the franchise is going in and I’m just happy to be a part of it. I look forward to the upcoming season.”

The Utah Starzz drafted Ferdinand-Harris eighth overall in the 2001 WNBA Draft out of LSU where she was a Kodak All-American. In April, the Tigers will make her the second women’s basketball player inducted into the LSU athletics Hall of Fame.
