Silver Stars Sign Jae Kingi-Cross
Terms of the deal have not been released, per team policy.
Cross joins the Silver Stars after playing in Detroit and Phoenix for two seasons. She missed the 2005 season for the birth of her third child. Cross spent all of 2001 with Detroit, where she led the Shock with 33 three-pointers and was second on the squad in both steals and assists.
“We are pleased to have Jae join us,” said Hughes. “She has international, plus WNBA, experience. It is a joy to watch her intense play and ability to pass.”
After one full season with Detroit in 2001, Cross took two years off before splitting 2004 between Detroit and Phoenix. Over her WNBA career, Cross averaged 4.1 points per game and 1.9 assists, while tallying 35 steals.
Cross played eight years of professional basketball outside of the WNBA with the WNBL Adelaide Lightning from 1994 to 2002. While playing for Adelaide, she helped her squad to three league titles. A former Olympian, Cross also is a member of the Australian National team.
