Stars Abroad: April 7

Select Stars players have continued to improve their game by playing overseas during the WNBA offseason. Below is a recap on how some of the San Antonio players have performed in their most recent contests.

Europe

Danielle Adams – Maccabi Ashdod (Israel)

Danielle Adams led Maccabi Ashdod to a finals berth in Israel on April 3 after beating Ramat Hasharon, 74-59, in game four of the semi-finals. Adams scored 18 points and grabbed two rebounds after starting and playing 25 minutes in the game. Adams added three assists and a steal and was five of six from the charity stripe. Leading into game one of the Israeli Finals, Adams ranks sixth in scoring (19.0 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (9.4 rpg).

Shenise Johnson – Istanbul University (Turkey)

Istanbul University evened up the playoff quarterfinal series in Turkey on April 5, after they beat Botas, 84-64. Shenise Johnson scored the second highest point total in the game, dropping 19 points on seven of 13 shooting. She added 10 rebounds to complete her double-double and added four assists and three steals in the 20-point victory. Game three of the quarterfinals takes place on April 8.

Danielle Robinson – USK Praha (Czech Republic)

USK Praha finished their three-game sweep of Slovanka MB in the Czech Republic playoff quarterfinals on April 1. Robinson started for Praha and played 21 minutes in the victory. The 2013 All Star scored six points while collecting four rebounds and one assist. Praha moves on to face Sokol HK in the playoff semi-finals starting on April 12.

Kayla Alexander – Energy Ivanovo (Russia)

Kayla Alexander’s season in Russia ended on March 31 after Energy Ivanova was swept by Dynamo K in the Russian playoff quarterfinals. Alexander scored four points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds while also adding one steal. Alexander finished her season in Russia as the high-scorer (14.2 ppg) and rebounder (8.5 rpg) on Energy, and ranked fourth in the league in the same categories.
