Danielle Robinson Named Peak Performer

SAN ANTONIO (September 18, 2013) – The WNBA today announced that San Antonio Silver Stars guard Danielle Robinson has captured the 2013 Peak Performer Award after leading the league in assists during the 2013 season. Robinson is the second player in Silver Stars history to earn the award, as Becky Hammon also paced the league in assists in 2007.

Robinson joins Angel McCoughtry of the Atlanta Dream and Sylvia Fowles of the Chicago Sky as this year’s Peak Performers, who led the league in points and rebounds, respectively.

Robinson earns her first Peak Performer Award after averaging 6.7 assists in 25 games this season, holding off Phoenix’s Diana Taurasi who averaged 6.2 assists. Robinson also topped two-time defending assists champion Lindsay Whalen of Minnesota who finished third, averaging 5.8 assists. Robinson dished out five or more assists in 20 games this season and reached the 10-assist plateau twice. She also ranked second in the league in assist-turnover ratio with a 2.63 mark.

This season, Robinson became the 10th Silver Stars player in franchise history to be named to the WNBA All-Star team after averaging 11.2 points, 6.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.36 steals in 32.5 minutes.
