Margo Dydek and Marie Ferdinand-Harris Named to All-Decade Team

SAN ANTONIO The San Antonio Silver Stars announced today that former center Margo Dydek and former guard Marie Ferdinand-Harris are the second two All-Decade Team honorees. Dydek and Ferdinand-Harris are two of 10 All-Decade Team members, as selected in a vote by fans, team staff and local and national media to commemorate the Silver Stars 10th Anniversary season.

Dydek moved to San Antonio with the franchise in 2003, after being selected by the Utah Starzz in the 1998 WNBA Draft. The tallest player in the WNBA at 72, Dydek played two seasons with the Silver Stars (2003-04), for a total of 68 career games, averaging 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. She currently holds the WNBA record for most blocked shots in a game with 10 against Orlando on June 7, 2011. Dydek passed away on May 27, 2011.

Ferdinand-Harris played for the Silver Stars for five seasons (2003-07), after relocating with the team from Utah. A two-time WNBA All-Star selection with San Antonio, Ferdinand-Harris played in 116 career games, averaging 10.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She led the Silver Stars in points and steals during the 2003 and 2005 seasons.

Dydek and Ferdinand-Harris join guard Danielle Robinson and former center Ann Wauters as the first four All-Decade Team selections.

The Silver Stars All-Decade Team was compiled to honor the teams ten years in Texas, after the franchise relocated from Utah in 2003. On August, 20, the Silver Stars announced the names of 26 nominees for the All-Decade Team, as selected by team staff. In order to be selected for the ballot, players must have played in a minimum of 50 games with the team between 2003 and 2012. Consideration was also given to factors including on court performance and ability, leadership, sportsmanship and community service, as well as contributions to team success and overall growth of the Silver Stars franchise. The remaining eight All-Decade Team selections will be unveiled in pairs at each of the final four regular-season home games.

Lower level seats for all remaining regular-season home games are available starting at $11. Visit www.sasilverstars.com or call a Silver Stars representative at (210) 444-5090 for more information.
