Prospect Profile: Elena Delle Donne

Throughout the 2012-13 offseason, will profile an athlete eligible for selection in the 2013 WNBA Draft. Scheduled for Monday, April 15, the 2013 WNBA Draft will make history as the world’s top female basketball prospects will be selected live on prime time television for the first time in the league’s 17-year history. Coverage and analysis of the first round will air live on ESPN2 beginning at 7 p.m. CT from ESPN in Bristol, Conn.

San Antonio holds four selections in the 2013 WNBA Draft – one first round, two second rounds and one third round. The Silver Stars have the No. 8 overall pick as well as the No. 16, No. 20, and No. 32 selections.

The first All-American in Delaware women’s basketball history, Delle Donne entered her senior season as the Blue Hens career leader in points (2,258), points per game (26.9), field goals made (759), field goal attempts (1,586), 3-point field goal percentage (39.6), free throws made (586), free throw percentage (90.7) and total blocks (204).
A two-time team captain, Delle Donne posted 72 20-point performances and 29 30-point performances through 204 career games leading into the 2012-13 season.
