Six of the seven Silver Stars abroad were in action last week as Chinese League play opened.

Jayne Appel
10/26 vs. Shan Xi – W, 88-80 – 25 points, 20 rebounds, 3 blocks
10/30 vs. Beijing – W, 77-69 – 32 points, 18 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists

Appel led Henan (2-0) to a pair of wins to open the Chinese League season. She registered a double-double – 25 points and 20 rebounds – in the season opener against Shan Xi. Appel also led all scorers with 32 points and added 18 rebounds in a win against Silver Stars teammate Sophia Young and defending champion Beijing Great Wall on Tuesday.

Appel currently leads the Chinese League in scoring (28.5) and rebounding (19.0) average through the first two games of the season.

Becky Hammon
10/31 vs. Bourges* – W, 84-62 – 15 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds

Hammon helped Spartak stay atop the Group A EuroLeague standings with an 84-62 win against Bourges on Wednesday. Hammon had 15 points, three assists and a pair of rebounds in the win.

Shenise Johnson
10/27 at BSE-FCSM – W, 82-36 – 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists
10/31 at Good Angels* - L, 78-89 – 29 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals

Johnson helped Sopron maintain its standing as the only undefeated team in Hungarian League play (7-0) with an 82-36 win at BSE-FCSM. Johnson had 15 points and five rebounds in the victory.

She followed that up with a team-best 29 points and 11 rebounds – her first career EuroLeague double-double – in Sopron’s 78-89 loss to Good Angels Kosice in Slovakia.

Ziomara Morrison
10/27 vs. Girona – W, 76-65 – 8 points, 7 rebounds
10/31 vs. Tarsus* - W, 79-48 – 5 points, 1 rebound
Morrison helped Rivas Ecopolis remain undefeated in domestic league play (3-0) matching eight points with seven rebounds in a win against Girona. Morrison and Rivas then opened up EuroLeague play (1-0) with a win against Silver Stars teammate Danielle Robinson and Tarsus on Wednesday. Morrison had five points and a rebound in the win.

10/27 at Botas – L, 83-96 – 16 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds
10/31 at Rivas Ecopolis* – L, 48-79 – 6 points, 2 steals

Robinson and Tarsus suffered a pair of road losses – one in domestic play and one in EuroLeague competition last week. Robinson had 16 points and four assists in the loss at Botas and notched six points and a pair of steals in the loss to Silver Stars teammate Ziomara Morrison and Rivas Ecopolis in Spain.

Sophia Young
10/27 vs. Liaoning – L, 63-68 – 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals
10/30 at Henan – L, 69-77 – 25 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals

Young and defending champion Beijing Great Wall opened up Chinese League play with a pair of losses last week. Young had 15 points, six rebounds and six steals in her Chinese League debut against Liaoning and followed up that performance with a team-high 25 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to Silver Stars teammate Jayne Appel and Henan on Tuesday.
