The San Antonio Silver Stars and the US Army would like to congratulate our second Army Strong High School Team of the Week, Reagan High School.
On the road to the state championship, the Reagan Rattlers compiled a 19-0 record in non-district games, earning them the city’s top ranking. The Rattlers are currently ranked third in district (26-5A), eighth in the state in the 5A classification and 38th in the nation according to Maxpreps.com.
The Rattlers are led by seniors Moriah Mack – who has committed to New Mexico State – Bri Gladney and Tessa Ramirez – who went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter to help the Rattlers secure a big win against second-ranked Steele. Other key players include junior Wendy Knight and freshman guard Mailee Jones as well as role players Madeline Mistich, Bailey Champion and Kate Lewis.
Big wins this season include one against second-ranked Steele, third-ranked Wagner, Judson and top-ranked Johnson – last week’s Army Strong High School Team of the Week.
During the 2012-13 offseason, the San Antonio Silver Stars have teamed up with the US Army to present the Army Strong High School Team of the Week. This program recognizes varsity girls’ basketball teams in Texas whose athletes demonstrate sportsmanship and leadership on and off the basketball court. Every Tuesday, beginning in January and running through March, the Silver Stars select a team that succeeds beyond the win-loss column and makes a difference in its school and community.
Each winning team will receive a visit from Silver Stars Head Coach and General Manager Dan Hughes and a US Army representative as well as tickets to a 2013 Silver Stars regular-season home game.
