Checking in with the Sparks on Mothers Day!

Some of your favorite Sparks players checked in with LASparks.com to fill us in on their favorite Mother’s Day memory, what they love most about their mom or what they love most about being a mom.

DeLisha Milton-Jones
On what she loves most about her mom:

”What I love most about my mom is that she’s so resilient. She truly taught me how to be a strong black woman. I appreciate that so much and being a player in a male-dominated sport, you can lose yourself. Her teaching me that has propelled my career to heights I hadn’t thought possible.”

Candace Parker
On her favorite Mother’s Day memory:

“My favorite Mother’s Day memory was when I was seven years old and I cut up all of my mom’s old pictures and made a collage for her. She really tried to act like she liked it but really she was mad I had destroyed all of the pictures. I tried to do something sweet but looking back on it, it wasn’t the greatest idea because there were a lot of pictures of me as a newborn and they were mostly polaroids! Her reaction will forever be with me.”

Marie Ferdinand-Harris
On her favorite thing about being a mom:

“I have a lot of favorites in regards to being a mom. Mostly I love it because it’s about teaching him about life. I have a little life that depends and relies on me. I have to be this strong woman that he can look up to and be proud of and I love that. I love hearing him call me ‘mommy’ and to see him grow. Our bond is so strong; it’s warms my heart just to think about him. He’s such a blessing in my life and he completes me.”

Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton
On her favorite Mother’s Day memory:

“The most memorable Mother’s Day experience for me was 10 years ago. My little sister was actually born on May 11th which was Mother’s Day at the time. It was a great surprise; we were all at the hospital and it was a wonderful Mother’s Day gift for my mom.”

Ashley Paris
On her favorite Mother’s Day memory:

“My favorite Mother’s Day memory would have to be when Courtney and I were five and we picked flowers from our mom’s garden and then sold them to her for Mother’s Day. She bought them from us and acted excited. We didn’t know any better and that would definitely be my favorite Mother’s Day memory!”

Noelle Quinn
On what she loves most about her mom:

“What I love most about my mom is her strength. She is a single parent and raised two kids on her own. I admire her so much for always doing whatever was necessary. To me, she’s Superwoman. She is my hero and my inspiration.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all moms from the Los Angeles Sparks!!!!
