Lisa Leslie and the 2001 WNBA champions congratulate the Lakers

Happy Back-to-Back-to-Back, Lakers!

It seems like L.A. has officially been deemed Titletown in the new millenium. The Lakers have won every NBA title in the 2000's, and the Sparks stole the crown from the Comets in 2001 and look to repeat in 2002. The Lakers dynasty has begun, and a Sparks dynasty could lie ahead. From one champion to another ... congratulations are in order.

2001 WNBA MVP, Lisa Leslie:

Leslie
On a Third Championship ...

"We understand that no one wants a steady diet of Shaquille and the Lakers but, hey, Sac had their chance. Like Coop (Head Coach Michael Cooper) always says, 'Champions Find A Way to Win...' That's what makes them the best and separates them from the rest. You have to respect that."

Congratulations ...

"Never underestimate the heart of a champion...way to get it done guys! Congratulations on a terrific season and a stellar finish!"

Dixon
Guard Tamecka Dixon:
Just when everyone thought we were defeated, we showed true championship form and got it done. Congratulations, and thanks for setting the pace...we're right behind you!

Forward Latasha Byears:
The Lakers are a special team. It's hard enough to win one of anything let alone three NBA Championships. It takes a lot of pride, hard work and determination for what you do and you have to respect that. Congratulations fellas, you did the d@&! thing!

Forward Erika DeSouza:
Eu estou muito contente com a vitoria de voces! Parabens!
(Translation: I am very happy for you guys! Congratulations on your win!)
