Ferdinand-Harris Coming to LA!
Three-Time All-Star Marie Ferdinand-Harris headed to the Sparks
LOS ANGELES – Free agent three-time WNBA All-Star guard Marie Ferdinand-Harris has signed with the Los Angeles Sparks, it was announced. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In six years in the WNBA with the Utah Starzz/San Antonio Silver Stars, Ferdinand-Harris has averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists. A WNBA All-Star in 2002-03 and 2005, Ferdinand-Harris was among the Silver Stars’ top 10 in numerous career offensive categories. Her best season was 2002, when she averaged 15.3 points per game. She was named to the WNBA Select Team that earned the Silver Medal at the 2003 FIBA World Cup.

A native of Miami, Fla., the 5-9 Ferdinand-Harris was an All-American at Louisiana State University, where she is one of only three players to record at least 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals. She is married to former LSU baseball star Cedrick Harris. They have a son, Cedrick Michael Harris, Jr., 20 months old.

"Marie is a very good basketball player,” said head coach Michael Cooper. “I’m happy to have her join the team. Her addition gives us a good slashing, shooting guard that we are going to need this upcoming season.”

“I’m very excited to be joining an organization with such a rich tradition and to play alongside Lisa Leslie and Temeka Johnson,” Ferdinand-Harris said. “I’m thrilled to work with coach Cooper and can’t wait to bring another championship to L.A.”
