On Tuesday, May 15th, the Sparks hosted the Inaugural Tip-A-Spark Fundraiser at the Long Beach GameWorks. Fans had a fantastic time while Sparks players and coaches served as waitresses and waiters with tips going towards the iCare Foundation, a non-profit charity benefiting foster kids. The menu items were Spark-themed and included a variety of appetizers, including, Taj's Tenders, Coop Con Queso, Smooth's Sliders, Willis Wings, and Chamique's Chicken Sliders, to name just a few.
Sparks fans also got an opportunity to play alongside their favorite Sparks player and challenge them to a competitive game of Bowling, Air Hockey, Dance Revolution, Indy Car, Super Shot, Downhill Biker, and Pool.
At the conclusion of the event, an auction was held for two autographed basketballs, two autographed jerseys from Chamique Holdsclaw and Temeka Johnson and the Grand Prize, a trip for two with Sparks Owners, Kathy Goodman and Carla Christofferson to Sacramento to watch the Sparks take on in-conference rival, Sacramento Monarchs.
The fundraiser was a blast for players, coaches, staff, and most of all, Sparks fans. The biggest winners of the night were the kids at the iCare Foundation who received over $3,000 from the Los Angeles Sparks.
